Cam question

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on my warranty and getting a cam done. First how much of a decrease in milage are you guys seeing and hows the reliability of a cammed motor as oppossed to a forced induction motor? Does the valvetrain have to be reset every so often? Thanks guys.

You will use the same factory lifters, pushrods, and rocker arms. You will be smart to change valve springs to match the cam lift and specs. You will also change out the cam gear, chain dampner, crank pulley bolt, cam bolts, and some other stuff. Plus, you must tune it. I assume you have a manual tranny. If automatic tranny then none of this applies. Good luck

ls3 = valve springs, pushrods are highly recommended.

cam bolt and crank bolt are TTY, so you will need new ones.

Will need a tune.

Depending on how aggressive your cam is, and which valve springs you get, will give you an idea on how often to replace valve springs.

and do yourself a favor and get a double valve spring, not a beehive
