A QUIZ for an Aeroforce gauge???

Ok. I put in the Aeroforce Dual Gauges... Now the question is what parameters should I scan?? Also where are the tempatures being read at on the car. 1)I know IAT is internal air temp... But IAT 1 is where? Also what would be considered too high? 2) IAT 2 is where? Also what is considered to high? 3) rail pressure? Is fuel rail... but what should it read? What would be a parameter for this reading? From too low to... Too high? Should I be reading it in (g) or (di) 4) ambient air is the air outside... Before or at filter? Correct? 5) MAF.. mass air flow...? what should it read? 6) MAF freq 1 What is it? 7) injection duty 1 & 2 What is it and what should it read? 8) fuel trim cell What is it. And what should it read? 9) A/F cmd what is it and what should it read? Also any suggestions or RECOMMENDATIONS on what I SHOULD BE SCANNING AND KEEPING AN EYE ON... WOULD APPRECIATE!!!!! This is what I have set so far.... Boost nigh/PSI.... A/F RATIO..... INTAKE AIR.... IAT 2.....AMBIENT AIR.... IGNITION ADV.... KNOCK RETARD.... KNOCK COUNTS.... SHIFT TIME IN ms.... FUEL LEFT.... Please let me know if there are any others that might be helpful that I'm not using!!!!

It won't read the A/F without a bung in the exhaust.

I mostly scan boost and H2O temp on my top gauge. The annunciator is set to alarm on 220*+ H2O temps. The 2nd gauge is set on tranny temp and oil pressure with the annunciator to alarm at 20 psi or less on the oil. I have other parameters set on each gauge but I do not regularly scan them. If I remember correctly IAT1 temps are at the MAF sensor and IAT2 temps are in the intake manifold after the blower. Read a good book on tuning fuel injection and it will help you understand what these parameters are. I would take pages to explain it all here. Scan what you want to know about.

IAT 1 is in the MAF sensor, IAT 2 is post supercharger, injector duty cycle is a measure of how hard the injectors are working for a given setup. Most cars after a few airflow mods + boost mods are at 100% duty cycle on stock injectors which means the injectors need to be swapped for larger injectors (63lb or ID850s most popular). A/F cmd is the air/fuel ratio commanded by the ECM which keeps the fueling consistent. Many of those parameters will be not very useful but interesting to see once. I think knock retard, IAT 2, Boost, ignition advance, IAT1 are good items to watch. Research the MAF flow rates to see what normal values are supposed to be.

Thank you!!! Really appreciate the information!!! I know when I had the motor work done they put in FAST injectors.... I think 89lb injectors....

I watch IAT1 IAT2 Knock Retard and alternate between boost and timing advance.

Did some checking and aeroforce web site says A/F Ratio will work with wideband ECM, and if I'm not mistaking the ZL1 has a wideband ECM.... Can someone confirm this? Ty!!!!!

You have to install the wideband O2 sensor in the exhaust. Aeroforce has these on their sight.

Set the warning for sure on knock retard - that's what'll kill your engine.

Yes, all it takes is 1 bad knock but atleast you'll know if the tune is off before you get there.
