Forget the magazines, has anyone heard if this ZL1 vs GT500 competition is still on for this May in Memphis? I would love to see this in person rather than reading or watching videos. I live in Memphis and this would be worth a vacation day!
Also, is there any chance that some of our Chevy Insiders might be here? HOT ROD announces a new event! The HOT ROD ZL1/GT500 Faceoff! This will be a showdown of the two hottest new Camaro and Mustang supercars soon to be released. As far as we can recall, this is the first shootout event to be scheduled before the cars involved have even been produced. It will take place at Memphis International Raceway on May 4-5, 2013.

I am so glad that the Chevy Camaro ZL1 is now on the scene.I am presently an owner of a 2011 Shelby Gt50 and am glad for the muscle car people that a good level of competition will now exist between the two cars. My very first car was a 1968 Camaro SS 396/375 HP so Camaros will always have a piece of my heart!!!! Competition between the two will ONLY make each car better!!!!!!!!
