Theory as to why we have not see a CMG.

Could it be because it will be the one auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson auction?

Just an idea I came up with last night; would it make sense to auction off the only color we have not seen yet to keep the excitement up?

What do you all think?

doubt it... what will be at BJ will be a test car to represent the car you will be able to choose to build... you'll get to pick the options and such, according to the information I was given.

So, in a way it might be CGM...

but not the reason we haven't seen one yet. Some of the plant insiders have said they are out there. We just haven't been lucky enought to get some pics yet.

Yup! The car's VIN will end in ...10001 and will be built on the 1st day of regular production.
The winning bidder will be able to spec out the car to his/her preferences and will be on the hook for taxes, title, registration and license fees.

All net proceeds will go to the American Heart Association.

Best regardSS,

Elie

Exactly what is a CMG. Sorry it's been bugging me. I'll shut up now.

Riddle me this batman....everyone keeps saying the VIN will be 100001 but 100003 has already been made.

So did they just "skip" that VIN number so they could market it has the 1st? If so, all of the collectors will know that really 100002 or 100003 or whatever was produced prior and what they are buying is the VIN number and 1st "real" production day status.

Right?

Although completely unrelated to this thread, the cars that are being built now are not "production" cars. The one being auctioned off is the first production car. I don't know what the VINs are right now but I bet they're a bit different to signify that they're not production cars. The current ones you see are saleable but they will be retrofitted a bit to bring them up to final spec (if they find any issues before production starts) before being resold to people.

I was thinking that perhaps the captured test fleet vehicles were numbered 000001, 000002, etc. Or could they be produced as 2009 vehicles? But I remember somewhere on here that someone said those cars would have a home someday. It would be nice if HeatherR or Number3 could pipe in and tell us what VIN is on those cars they are driving.
