My 1LE got an upgrade this weekend!

I got a smokin' offer from Andy at ADM Performance, so I pulled the trigger on his Stage 1 kit with new GM LSA supercharger. I took it on in stages. First with the HX install, and then with the actual install. Took about 2 hours for the HX and another 8 or so for the supercharger. Tuning starts tomorrow.

Big shout out to Andy at ADM for the deal on parts and the several phone calls with questions (as this was my and the shops first LSA install). Also, another great thanks to Tim Gamble at Deep Stage Tuning in Norman, OK for the use of his shop and his help this weekend. I could not have finished this without both of their help.

Sub'ed. Want to hear what numbers you get. Other than the LTH's (and HFC's I assume), any other engine mods going into this? Completely stock motor otherwise?

If you cared about such things, would the ZL1 engine cover fit on the LSA supercharged SS motor?

Are you doing to have to modify anything else? Transmission?

What's this going to do to the power band?

From the looks of it, the supercharger has the mounting tabs for the cover. So I would think it will fit.

I will most likely need a clutch in the immediate future, and all the suspension upgrades to properly apply the power to the ground. As for the power band, not sure, this is the first LSA conversion I have worked with.

Looks good man, congrats. I'll be doing the same thing in a couple months can't wait. I'll be adding extra to my build. Anything difficult that you ran into?

You have to bend the steam tube like 30 degrees down and toward the driver side. It worried me a little but seems to be working. You have to either remove or trim the plastic pieces on each side for the HX. I chose to trim, preference I guess. You have to trim the heat extractor (14-15 only) because it will make contact with the top hose going to the LID. I spaced the heat extractor for now with washers because I don't want to cut on it. And lastly, the factory 1LE strut tower brace didn't clear, and I had to space it with washers as well. I will just buy a ZL1 strut tower brace and sell the one I have.

Outside of all of that, I got to drive it for the first time last night. Drove it to my tuner's house, and we did some street tuning. Let me say, OH MY GAWD! This car is a FREAKING BEAST! I had a friend tell me the 3.91s would be too much, but the car pulls so hard. The acceleration and power is ridiculous and instantaneous! I could not be happier.

Do you track it OP? Wondering what the consequences of the SC are with heat on a track.

Congrats.

I'm not sure why more SS peeps don't do this LSA conversion. .....

Well I can't speak for everyone but I'll be taking this car to the track several times a year and I would be VERY concerned with heat soak from the SC. Some people are putting additional oil coolers in the LS3 for track use because of high oil temps. Not to mention added weight in the nose.
