Rear view camera

Is it possible to "turn off" the rear view camera on the 2015 SS?
I had a '13 and it was easy.
Can't find the off switch on the '15.
Am I missing something or no can do?

The symbols and guide lines can be turned off, but I don't think you can turn the camera itself off.

To turn the symbols or guidelines on or off:
1. Shift into P (Park).
2. Press the CONFIG button.
3. Select Rear Camera Options.
4. Select Symbols or Guidelines. The feature is on when a check mark appears next to it.

Why would you want to turn it off? Just curious. I love it for backing into parking spaces, which I do whenever possible.

I have a 2010 and I wish I had the rear view camera, I will not back my car up I just hate the blind spots and she is so wide, I thought about putting in a aftermarket one and may do some day. I don't understand why GM did not put them in the 2010 when they have been around for years.

Ditto almost to the point I'm spoiled. I get in My wife's car and try to look at the dash to back up.
Rear View cam is one of the best mods I added.

Yep. Same for the '13. Looks like they changed it for the '15 model. The only 2 options are symbols and grid lines.

Because I'm stuck in old school mode I guess. Lol. I have more faith in rear and side view mirrors. I also don't like it when that screen changes. It's distracting. Kind of like pop ups in email. I know. Kinda weird. It's simply a preference.

Even if you disconnect the camera it will still pop up. It would just be a black screen. Sucks that they took the option out to turn it off.

Funny, when we bought ours I thought why the heck would anyone need a RVC in a car. Now since having one in the Camaro & wife's CUV, I've gotten so comfortable using them to back into the garage & parking spaces I'm installing one in my Corvette this week.

I installed the one from Gen5DIY and I love it. I don't have to be afraid to backup anymore.
