They are not going to get away with that with me . If they want I will accept a push to start ,but hell no to a key and a separate key fob remote. This is totally unacceptable .

fob 1 |fäb|
noun (also fob chain)
a chain attached to a watch for carrying in a waistcoat or waistband pocket.
• a small ornament attached to a watch chain.
• (also fob pocket) a small pocket for carrying a watch.
• a tab on a key ring.
ORIGIN mid 17th cent. (denoting a fob pocket in a waistband): origin uncertain; probably related to German dialect Fuppe ‘pocket.’

Not doing it, and as stated many times already, if it was going to a push button start I would be all over it..

Next time I get in my Camaro I will start it up and purposely try and knee it while I'm sitting in the garage with the car running..

Also I don't see why anyone would take their foot off the gas, and move their knee up going down the road. Also these are powered seats not the ones where you reach down to pull the lever and jerk the seat up too far on accident and your knees go up too fast..

One more rant and I'm out, how many people really drive their car like they are sitting at a 3rd grade school desk? I like to sit with my legs more stretched out, it is a lot more comfortable..

Not happening, not wasting my time, and I definitely don't want or need someone jacking with my car rushing to get it done because there are 10,000 more cars to get this done, and then I'm pissed because they scratched the car whether it be the dash, column, or paint..

End of rant...

It looks like all of them - 2010 to 2014 - over 510,000 of them worldwide... I'm not getting it done. That is a crutch instead of a fix. They say there's nothing really wrong with the switch but that the drivers knee can bump the key and turn it out of the Run position... I don't see how.
I'll have a passenger play around with it on a safe section of road and see what happens before I make up my mind, but they aren't taking my key to give me a two parter - that's nuts.

seriously? OMG.... GM to recall all cars and trucks with doors because you can slam your arm, leg, finger on them. Replacing with light curtain sensors.

Let's not bring OSHA into this, I could see them assholes pushing that idea..

We had to install them on a few machines in our shop when they came through.

They don't push the manufacture that builds these machines to require them when they sell them but if you buy them and use said machine you best have them..

I say all they will do is make a couple new keys and remove the flip out part of the existing fob and you will get the same fob back.
Doesn't the fob also have something to do with the passkey theft deterrent system? It may still have to remain in close proximity to the switch.
