Squeaking/Whistle noise on driver side of engine on cold start

I had my 2010 Camaro SS A6 in this week for some other warranty work. I described a noise that would occur during "cold" starts (starts after not running for several hours or overnight).
  • Cool / Cold Engine RPM = 1100 (loudest noise)
  • Warm engine RPM = 875/900 (far quieter when engine is warm)
  • Originates from driver's side and front end of engine

My suspect was the power steering pump, but this is what I was told:

1) It was reproduced during a cold start (they had the car overnight)
2) Source identified as air passing over throttle blade
3) Verified noise, caused by air flow past throttle blades
4) Changes as vehicle warms up
5) Normal condition

I was told that there is an air bypass circuit that is used to help regulate the air/fuel mixture when the engine is cold. The airflow changes because of this bypass input and it is "whistling".

Am I lucky or what.....

I was told it was a "normal condition" so no corrective action was taken.
