I had my tuner deactivate it for me as well...I couldn't be happier!

I agree with you. That is my plan too. As soon as the warranty is up, good bye AFM. Not a second before that though, it is not worth giving up my warranty to eliminate something that is mildly annoying to me. As far as sounds go, I ride a Harley with a faring. I hear every click a tick of the engine. I have developed an immunity to noises over the years. I will ignore the slight drone until there is no more warranty.

What do you lose on the MPG side? 1-2?

I would not give up the power train warranty in my vehicle just to turn off AFM. I don't notice the AFM when it kicks in and if it saves me gas then I'm all for it. I also don't understand how people can average over 20 MPG in these cars unless you're driving it like my grandmother. I consistently average around 16 for combined MPG and I'm not getting on it. Different strokes I guess.

I just drive around town using the paddle shifters. I never feel AFM that way.

Ten minutes of my time & the car is a joy to drive. The way is was meant to be. No more fu*king AFM!!! I know chevy made it like that to beat the gas guzzler tax & put a better avg. fuel economy on the sticker but if I wanted a 4 cylinder I would have bought one.

What "HDDAN" is calling noise immunity, is gradual but PERMENANT Hearing Loss, due to long time and repeated exposure to loud noises. Trust Me! I know, I didn't protect my ears when I was younger, and now I have to wear two Hearing Aids and still need captioning on TV. As for the AFM I can't hear when it kicks in

I had mine tuned at Jannetty's, with 150 miles on the car, definitely worth it
