I am surprised no one has posted what wires in the rear view and side mirrors would need to be cut to remove the auto-dim function. Someone familiar with the wiring harness should be able to look this up without too much trouble....??

Anyone???

i'd imagine it'd have more to do with adding the proper resistor in-line rather than cutting wires. that's what i had to do to disable my automatic headlights in the truck

has anyone come up with a good solution yet for this? I can't find anything in the config on the radio to disable it. And I am not thrilled about the idea of using a piece of tape to cover the photo sensor....which also brings up another question. How does covering the sensor with tape turn the auto-dim off? Wouldn't that tell the mirror that it is always dark outside meaning it's nighttime so turn the auto-dim ON!?

Remove the side mirrors, you will get less drag and thus go faster, who cares what is behind you...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm under the impression that headlights hitting the photo sensor cause the mirrors to dim.

That being said, I'd like a non-tape option too...I have 5% tint and it gets difficult to see at night with the auto-dim function.

Can someone show me with a picture, or in detail, where the photo sensor is?

The sensor is the little circle in the top center of the rear view mirror. If you shine a flashlight into it you can cause the mirrors to dim. Similarly putting your finger on the sensor will cause the mirrors to undim slowly.

Wow, I found it. Not something you want to put tape over.....So has anyone found out then a real way to disable the auto-dim?

A small piece of black tape cut in the shape of the sensor is just too simple and looks neat if you cut it right, I don't get why you wouldn't want to do it.

I can't imagine a black circle in the middle of the rear view mirror looking good....but i'll try it out.

Has anybody figured this out??? I don't have tint (yet) and I still don't always want the mirror to dim as much as it does.
