I'd hate to see my brand new CE ZL1 hanging off the ass end of that truck. No telling what kind of road debris has been flying up and hitting it on the trip.

It came into the city on rail, it went from the rail yard to the dealer on an open truck, but yeah, it was dirty. It sat at the Willow point yard for a month, then was trucked to the rail yard. 2200 Km of riding the rails over a couple weeks. It would have been nice if I could have flew down to Lansing and picked it up the day it rolled off the line. |

I was able to track my 1LE through my salesperson. It went from Lansing to the rail yard by truck. Then it was on a train for two weeks. Once it reached the destination rail yard it was back on a truck for the 70 mile trip to the dealership. And that didn't include the trip from the plant to the facility that installed the hood wrap.

I finally found an unsold SS 1LE up in Thunder Bay, ON. I called them and the salesman said, “oh sorry, just sold it to a walk-in woman in her 50s yesterday. She takes delivery next week, but she doesn’t know how to drive stick so we have to teach her.” That made me so mad. I’m trying to order one for years now and I finally find one and some random woman who doesn’t even know what she bought just waltz’s in and buys it. I was off by about 4 hours between when I contacted the dealer and when she closed the deal.

Call the 'random' woman up and make her an offer.

I am from Thunder Bay, that car was ordered as stock I believe. Sucks that you just missed it by a few hours. If it is really the one you want and its not 100% sold call and ask to talk to Mike. He is the sales manager there. Let him know I gave you his info. (Chris Takacs is my name) **Update. I just spoke to Mike. He said it is paid for already and sold. I guess that settles that haha.

Nice to see ya. Both grandparents on my dads side came over from Hungary during the war on the boat. They both still have family in Hungary. Kapuvar is where they were from. I'm shocked you noticed it just from my last name. Never thought it was that common haha.

My grandparents stayed and suffered the communists after the nazis, which is also quite respectable. Alas, none of them are with us anymore, they died relatively young...

*Another* Hungarian on the forum? And here we had gone a solid 2-3 weeks w/o the obligatory "Nobel Prize" boasting and picking on New Yorkers...

I’ve given up on my quest and GM in general. What a pathetic conclusion the the combustion engined Camaro. I found a couple more 1LEs but by the time I contacted the dealers, they had been sold, or they didn’t want to sell out of province. I ended up deciding to go with a non-1LE SS and then buy the wheels and lowering springs and front splitter and flat black hood to make a fake 1LE. Well just my luck, I found a beautiful 2SS manual car that fit the bill and I put a deposit down on it. Was ready to arrange for the pickup a few days later and finalize the paperwork. When I called the dealer, he told me that the car he sold me unfortunately had been sold. Few days prior, but nobody marked it in their inventory log, so my salesman didn’t know it was sold already. What a joke. So I got another deposit refunded. I guess at the end of this whole saga, I likely saved myself a lot of money, and i didn’t pay GM money they don’t deserve, especially with the dumb markups on MSRP the past 2 years way above inflation. I really despise GM these days with their crazy push to an all EV lineup with no thought towards their heritage and legacy customers. I’ve driven GM my whole life and I’m a die hard fan. I’m that guy that wears the hats and the t-shirts and supports them whenever. But I’ve just about had it now. None of their new vehicles interest me, and their pricing is out of control. Maybe it’s time to give the new Ford Mustang a try.
