Axle problems

I just bought my Camaro 3 weeks ago and wanted take it on a road trip. I drove it to CA . The passenger side Axle broke at the CV , I had it towed to the local dealer and the swapped it out. I have put about 1100 miles and I noticed the dust cap was off and the bolt was hanging on by the last thread. What kinda of damage will this cause ?

How are the threads? If you can retorque it hopefully there is no damage. Whom ever owned the car before probably did a lot of drag racing. The rear hub nuts should be checked periodically if it's raced.

Which, in theory, means it could have done 3400 passes (give or take).

i took it to the dealer and after looking at it , they found the tech at the first dealer who replaced the axle didn't bend the end of the nut into the groove . The SM was being a ass about paying another dealer to fix it. Well it got fixed and i ordered a new cap and i hit the road.

Glad it's fixed and you and the car are okay. It could have been a lot worse.

Thanks man , The original dealer who swapped the axle was being a dick about paying to fix it.
