Need input on new Camaro, White or Black?

Funny thing, when it comes to GM trucks, White was the number one seller, and is for most vehicle brands and models etc. Pewter outsold white on the pick ups for several years, that was a hot color a few years back. I love the 4th gens in Pewter. But for some reason, black sold like wild fire with the Camaro, well I know why, but wow lots and lots.

Well most dust/dirt is lighter in color, in contrast to a black back ground it is easier to see. Pollen for example is yellow, sore thumb on black. Also the way light refracts off black swirls show like MAD. When white gets dirty, it just looks white still, black turns a brown color. White just keeps being white, it just becomes an off white, or eggshell white but it's still white. You forget how white Summit White is until you wash it and POW it's bright!! White and clean. At least that's what I noticed with my 2003 GMC Sierra.

Silver is like white, from what I have observed as well. It shows swirls more than white though. Reason white does not show swirls so much is that the light refracting off the scratches is white light, white light coming off a black or dark surface is easier to see because of the contrast. The light emitted off of black is obviously every color that's why it is black, but when it hits the edges of the scratches on the swirl marks it refracts the white like back at you at the same time the black is coming at you as well.

Hey man got a quick question for you. I'm a SSgt in the Air Force and I was told by my dealership I was eliglble for the Honor and Valor Badge on my 2SS I ordered 1MAY. How did you apply for it? I was told by my dealership to check GM's site for details, but couldn't really find anything. I wish I knew about the badge before I ordered the vehicle! Any help would be appreciated! thanks!

I sent the order form to dealer and went with the Summit White. Thanks for all the input, it was very good info pro and con for both colors. I just hope they quote a price soon so I know what I'm dealing with and decide whether I am trading in 2010 CGM 2SS/RS, which I really love. Just don't want to be paying insurance for Camaros.

hope you enjoy it, I think white looks great with black wheels and black fixtures (like the bezels, camaro font on the fenders etc)

next time though, go black - you'll love it
