1st batch of camaros vs. 2010 version
I know that a lot of people are pre-ordering or buying the camaro immediately. While others with a little more patience are waiting until 2010-11 or even later before they get one. I just wanted to make a thread getting the overall consesus. Whether it be the first batch(march-august) or waiting?
I think I'm going to hold off from the first batch in case of recalls or anything. Plus I want to wait and see if amy extra features or accessories come out. |

Im waiting till the 2011 comes out. Much better bargaining plus possibly Nav and HUD. Not to mention a true 1st year car is going to have issues no matter how good quality control is.
I don't think there will be LS3 or Trans issues, since they are both pretty stable as they are already in other applications. It will be something else that is problematic for the 2010 model |

2012 for me... besides financial reasons (damn wife and her fancy schooling!) I would never purchase a car in the first MY; I refuse to be a guinea pig. Not saying no one else should because there will only be a small percentage of cars with actual issues, and recalls are free to be repaired... but I'd rather wait it out, get the bugs fixed, and the cool new stuff that subsequent MY's always get.

Yeah, I'm waiting until 2010 or 2011. Not only will they have fixed any bugs, but there will be more options to choose from...and I'll have more money.

2011 at the earliest for me. I want the HUD and will start working next summer at the earliest.

I can't see myself being able to get one until at least 2011. This is heavily dependent on my job and my expenses.

Well I sorta have to get a new car by summer of 2009, seeing that my car is a lease and it expires then, so if I do decide to get the Camaro I'll be getting one 5-6 months after launch.
But I'm going to wait until the car launches... I have to wait to see what pricing is to even see if I can get the Camaro. I also want to see how the V6 actually performs, and I want to see how the aftermarket will be. So it's also dependent on those 3 factors. If they work out I'll be getting a Camaro. If not I'll get something cheaper, like the Cobalt SS turbocharged, and then after I pay it off I'll look into getting a Camaro SS down the road.... Just have to wait and let time take its course...

as soon as I can get the car I want, I will order it. HUD and NAV are really desirable options for me.

I think that I might end up waiting a year because I think I would like to wait for HUD. My preferred dealership is also very small. So they will not be getting very many camaro's and by the time I can sit in one and decide on a color the dealership will probably already have a bunch of V6's on order.
And if I wait a year at the rate that I am saving I may be able to buy it outright. |

I am waiting on the convertible so I will be waiting till the 2011 models at least. I am guessing most of the bugs and pre order hoopla will be over by then. Besides, I am known for hammering prices down so in order to to so I will have to be a little patient.
If the car has major issues I will go back to looking at Corvettes, etc.

I have to wait till im done with school. Right now I might be able to balance it but thats because the classes are easy and im able to work 30-35 hours a week plus school but im sure that will change with senior year cramming. but after that it should be fair game as long as i can find somewhere to live that has a garage.

Either the last of the 2010s or early 2011 model. Have to save up the money!
