Sorry if this is repeated but has anyone had their vehicle loose engine power, had the stability system disabled, traction control disabled, the check engine light came on, and is was misfiring very badly?

I was barely able to "limp" into a dealership that is not my normal dealer. They have indicated that it is the throttle body assembly. The vehicle has only 46,000 miles and is 100% OEM. Does it sound reasonable for this to be the issue?

Also, they indicated that this is not covered under the power train warranty. Can anyone confirm?

Driving: 2010 LT2 RS. Also have had timing chain issues already. Beginning to think I got a "lemon."

Thanks for the help.

I had this happen on my 2009 Chevrolet pickup. I removed and cleaned the throttle body with carb cleaner and cleaned the map sensor.it ran great after. it threw similar codes and barely ran to get home.it only had about 34k on it.

We assume your Camaro is not over eight years. Do you have more than 80,000 miles?

Fuel injectors do not fall under emission controls. My Camaro only has 8,000 miles. I dont have have the 2011 anymore but when I had it I was under 80,000

If fuel and air and spark don't cause an internal combustion engine to run then I have no clue what are major components.
Sorry but the injectors are not part of emissions, it has nothing to do,with you being a braniac

Thanks for all the insight everyone.

Unfortunately, my Camaro is my only vehicle and my daily driver so I had to use the dealer for the repair to get it back as soon as possible. (Also, just fyi - the dealer that I used wasn't my normal dealer. It was just a dealership that I was barely able to "limp" into) But, I have it back and is running good for now.

Thanks again,

As to the question about why the throttle body isn't covered by the person warranty, I just looked at one of the GM parts websites, and it looks like the TB is classified as part of the fuel system, which someone already said is not covered. I can kind of see the logic of that, but it is a bit of a reach.

Not to kick you while you're down OP, but on-line the OE part is on sale for around $150. :( The price you paid for the TB looks like it's about equal to the MSRP, so that's not too terrible, but what's this "harness" thing from your invoice? Next to the outrageous labor charge, that's the suspicious thing which sucks out to me. I'd be checking that part number.

Still, my '10 1LT is also my only car, so I understand the "pay any price because I won't have a car" impulse.

When this occurred in my 08 SS Impala, I was told that it was either the throttle body or the gas pedal sensor (Which I never knew there was one!!). It was the gas pedal sensor for me. I let the dealer fix it because, like you, it was happening to me in the middle of a monsoon and the dealer was right around the corner.

Losing power like that was not fun.

I miss the days of cable throttle, better response, and when I had issues all I did was take it off and clean it with carb cleaner good as new.

Engine power reduced on my SS a few days back. Dealership confirms it was an issue with the throttle body. They ordered a new one and are replacing it under the powertrain warranty.

So these throttle body replacements that the dealers are troubleshooting as a failed part....did they inform you what part of it failed ? Was it the stepper motor/TPS or sticky throttle plate shaft bushings?

It's better to not have an OEM TB.
