Drop springs definitely do put your shocks in a different part of their travel than originally intended from the factory. That being said they're not using parts of the travel that aren't intended for use. So long as the springs you select don't drop the vehicle too far, or have too aggressive of a spring rate you're good to go. For ultimate comfort coilovers really are the way to go because you can tailor them to your tastes, but if you don't mind a little more sporty ride quality and your budget doesn't allow for coilovers yet drop springs are still a great way to go.
Our Pfadt Racing Drop Spring kits were designed with use on the factory shocks. Dropping the car 1.25" they don't drop the car too far and the spring rates were selected specifically to keep the stock shocks happy. |

I went with Pedders Xa coilovers as my first and only suspension mod. The car handles great, as Pete mentioned the lower center of gravity, spring rates, and adjustable height and dampening have been more than enough for me. After 2 years Im just now looking to add sway bars.

You can get our entire Level 2 Handling Package for less than half of your budget which allows plenty left over for installation costs. It comes with our popular lowering springs and adjustable tubular sway bars as well as every bushing we make for your car. This is by far the best bang for your buck option.

A cheap alternative for sway bars are to convert to the ZL1 sways, LCAs, and endlinks. This in addition to springs and bushings would leave you with a nice handling ride. I just priced the ZL1 parts and everything is less than a set of aftermarket sways.

ALL VENDORS: I have a 2012 V6 convertible and would like to have lowering springs installed by shop. I am looking for a 1" drop, preferably nothing more than that as I do not want to have a hard ride. Please chime in with recommendations, cost, and if possible, names of any reliable G5 installers in northern California. Thank you in advance!
