its all in one's own interpetation of "perhaps"...which to me means it's being knocked around,..meaning there has not been a definate decision made yet,it needs more in-depth thought as far as would it be profitable,..i would think that a t/t v-6 camaro would put out about the same hp as a m6 "ss" but cost more than the "ss" at about maybe 5 more mpg's...but who could keep their foot out of a twin turbo??

That said, I think it would be an awesome competitor for the next V6 mustang, but not as the Z28. From what I can think of, there isn't a lot of weight saving either, but at least the fuel economy is there. |

If I can find a 425 horse' TT V6 with 29 MPG, in a car this heave, I'll be very suprised.

Cool beans. I know that they're on the prowl for more efficient drivetrains, and I'm glad to see they're not going to abandon horsepower... All I can say is that they better keep the V8 in production just as long as they possibly can. Because when it goes, I'm going to

After coming back from SEMA, I thought we were going to see the LSA-powered Z28 making a return for 2011?
I don't see the lineup including a TT V6 option, but it certainly would be interesting. |

Twin turbo V6 . This will probably add another, what - 5-7K? You will then have a V6 Camaro that is roughly on par with the V8 for the same price.

It wouldn't get a good 0-60 time compared to the SS considering the turbo needs time to spool up. IMO, I don't think it would be a good move for GM to make two trim levels that would have similar performance numbers.

I don't understand why everyone thinks the Z28 has to be more powerful than the SS. The Z28 has never been more powerfull than the SS. The old aluminum DZ302 motors were lighter, and the cars had better handling/braking than the SS for road racing. They were never more powerful than the SS's.
I for one am pissed that GM painted themselves into a corner by using the SS badge on everything from trucks to HHR's and cobalts, so that now they have to resurect Z28 as an upgraded model to the SS. The TTv6 would make a perfect Z28 because it would be almost as powerful as a V8, but it would be lighter and quicker in the twisties. I think they should offer the TT V6 with upgraded suspension/brakes like the old Z28, as a Z28, and make an even more powerful SS, maybe LSA, or LS7. Just my 2 cents, but you know I'm right. |
