I am shocked by this 2 sec differance I would have expected the Camaro to be much slower. Maybe the Boss on this particular day did not have a pro driver behind the wheel. Was the Camaro completely stock? If so a few bolt on suspension pieces and tires would have probably pulled the two cars even.

That would be awesome to see the Boss 302 and the Z28 competing in Grand Am. The Boss is doing fantastic in Grand Sport this year, they have those M3's on the run.

I was unaware that the Mustang V6 was 2 seconds behind the SS at Willow...

Car and Drivers 2011 Lightning Lap is out, No Boss but the GT500 and GT did awesome 1st and 3rd in LL2 and the V6 came in 1st in LL1. The Camaro is 2 seconds behind the GT at VIR, different tracks will result in different times however, 0.1 is the closest the Camaro has ever been to the GT on a track... The GT was also voted as Car and Drivers 10 best of 2011.

Did you cut and paste that???

Remember what we've told you.... If your only reason to be here is to advertise the success of the mustang, you are on the wrong forum.

You won't get many more warnings.

In reality that isn't much faster for a way more expensive car. They should run the stock 5.0 gt vs ss. but, w/e

Can't honestly compare based on price alone
my local dealer just got his first Laguna Seca
with a 48,000 window sticker and got a 10,000
dollar dealer availability surcharge
Had it listed on ebay when ordered and it sold
imediately to a doctor/collector on long island

Wait!!! Don't ban me yet, I'm going all the way to the states to get some Camaro info. Alpha, Gen V engines and hopefully some other stuff. I leave in 5 hours and will be gone for a few weeks. I will keep my Mustang info to myself (on this site)

I don't get the "our car is faster than (brand X)" stock thing. There will always be a faster car than yours. Thank God. It weighs more, it costs more, blah, blah, blah...Mod or shut the hell up.

^ Doubt it, Laguna seca is still using the same engine. I think there is some difference in the exhaust and maybe a little better tune, but whatever advantage it has would be slight.

I think you may be incorrect.......
The Boss 302 Laguna Seca edition is a further upgraded version of the Boss 302. Additions include a close-ratio six-speed stick, a standard Torsen limited-slip rear differential, and revised suspension tuning. Unique spring and dampers rates and a larger rear stabilizer. Laguna Seca models lose their rear seats and gain a cross-car X-brace to increase structural rigidity approximately 10%. They ride on 19X9-inch front and 19X10 inch rear light-weight alloy wheels with R-compound high-performance tires. Ford Racing front brake ducts help cool the brakes.

The #5 strut/shock setting on the regular Boss is equal to the #1 setting on the Laguna Seca edition.

Of that extensive list you mentioned, I would actually say the R-compound tires and lightweight alloy wheels will make the biggest difference.

How many Laguna Seca editions are they making again?

You got that right!!
I hear mixed reports on production numbers for the regular and Leguna Seca Boss's. I heard 4000 for the regular and 400 for the Laguna Seca. Another source told be that they will make as many regular Boss 302's as they can make/sell......4000-8000???
But we won't know actual numbers until the production run ends for this MY.

Well in the end, I would need to see one run to know for sure what the advantages would be. I prefer to be more conservative in my hopes since the auto industry has a history of disappointing.
