Hey Tropper, nothing wrong with test driving a fast car. Speed is intoxicating and can make a guy do weird and unimaginable things, which is why girls dig cars that go fast. Hell if I could afford it, I would trade my Camaro for an Audi R8 or a ZL1 (pipe dreams). All you have to do now is find a way to make your ride go faster or look even cooler !

...I saw a 2012 GT 500 and followed it back to the lot, the prep guys took it the gas station and returned it back to the dealership. A trade in on a '13. It was nice, I looked at it, and admitted comically I was the "enemy" and explained my Chevy position. I just wanted a first hand look, it was nice....I kinda liked it I must admit..if not a dyed in the wool Camaro guy, I might have even went for one. One of the Ford guys in the car said he liked the Camaro look better. I'd fall on my sword before buying a Ford. Just sayin...

Why? What a waste. Too many people put brand loyalty over everything else. It's a shame to dismiss a car just because of who makes it.

...case in point, you hide your ride and brand info, I do not not. You drive.....S L O W, I drive Chevy! My first car was a Pontiac '71 T37 Lemans, nice, but it was a 350 2BBL, and an auto....my dad got it for me, but it wasn't....me. I wanted a 4BBL, dual exhaust, 4 spd...I grew up reading HotRod...and about the drag racers on my earliest childhood in the late 60's and early 70's..and I saw a '72 Pontiac Formula 400 I wanted, but it was too much, Then a neighbor had the Camaro Z/28 I fell in love with, I sold the Pontiac, and it's been a life long love affair since that fatefull day I bought the Z/28. Not to mention my family ties with GM employment, and retirement.....it's been a family thing, a sense of comitment, like baseball and apple pie. We've been there..my family has, a close nit GM clan. Don't talk about waste or shame to me please. There has been none of that. Just dedication...over a generation, and a sense of belonging to something special.

Seriously though, I don't know what an '07 Shelby GT has to it, but if at any time you feel in the future an urge to look at a V8, take a look at the nice low mileage SS Camaros from 2010, 5k miles, $30,000 on autotrader. Price a little much? Go a little higher on the mileage, and if it's not quite what that Shelby was power wise, bring over to one of our houses one weekend, we'll get you track ready in no time.

I decided to go look at it and I took it for a test drive. It had a lot of power and I loved the Hurst short throw shiftier in in. The dealer is a auto nut and he let me really get on it and it felt wonderful. We got back to the dealership and we started the process. I was able to knock them down 5 grand from there asking price and they were going to give me a great trade in price on my camaro and let me remove all the aftermarket parts and put her back to stock. I wont post the final price but it was insane. The shelby was clean, I mean CLEAN! One owner, a older gentleman who traded it in for a truck. It only had 22000 miles on it and all records with it. I got the price I wanted and everything was going great. My sales person had to go talk to the loan person about something. So I was sitting in the booth alone and this is no joke. As I was sitting there I looked out at my camaro sitting there all clean and sexy looking. I started to think of all that I have done to her and all the great times we have had. I felt like I was about to betray her. I could not trade her in. Sales person walked back in with all the documents to sign and I told him I had a moment of clarity and just can't bring myself to do it. Shredded the paperwork and I walked out, got in my camaro and left. As I was leaving I punched her and broke the tires loose and got that grin on my face again. I knew I made the right decision. I had a moment of weakness. Maybe this was a test lol.

FORGIVE me my Camaro brethren for I have sinned and I have come to confess my sin
you are mistaken: this is not a sin.

Its heresy, and you should be burned at the stake. A weiner roast, as it were. With marshmallows, even.
