In short, these cars drive very nicely. The 6L80 trans is absolute garbage for the spirited driver in my opinion. They should have offered the GT in a manual like the GXP, might have kept it! |

Wow, that looks exactly like the one I'm slightly considering going to see (except, of course, for the nicer wheels on yours)!

20k is too much. 14-15k tops.

I would get another one in a heartbeat!! I've actually been holding onto my Roto-fab in hopes to get another one someday. I LOVED that car! Would have kept it if it wasn't for that @#$*% drunk driver that hit mine. Insurance paid me within $200 of what I paid for mine a year prior with 20k more miles on it.
If you're looking at one for $20k it should probably have 60k miles or less on it. Like someone else said, these things are holding their value! I'd say they're the next '94-96 Impalas for value holding (IMO).

Nah... if it's no longer made, I no longer want it (unless, of course, it's a "classic").

As a family car, I think it's got the right formula for being practical and fun. I'm not thrilled that it belonged to the Pontiac brand here in the US (I stopped liking the brand after about the year 2002...). But I'd probably drive it anyway and $20k doesn't sound like a bad deal.

My cousin has a black g8 gt. That car is sweet. Lots of get up and go.
The parts aren't terrible to get just don't expect to find one in a junk yard. The repair time takes a few days longer and one wiper blade has to come from the dealership. Recommendation, do not put the camaro 20s on it once you hit 70 it starts to ride rough and has a lot of road noise. His g8 is a daily driver and he loves it. They do hold their value quite well especially for a dead brand. 'D say try to talk them down to 18 thats what most go for here in TN. The SS does not look as sharp as this car and it is what the replacement is. It is technically an import since most of its Australian . Holden is a great brand... sad to see them go. The camaro is on the upgraded zeta platform that the g8 is on. Last edited by Pink Lady; 08-23-2014 at 01:21 AM. |

I've always liked the G8's. I think they were $30-33K back in '09, so $3K depreciation a year X 5 = $15K off, so $15-18K would be right. You definitely have to factor in the extinct factor, but if I could buy one right I would.
If it's in great condition and has the optional wheels and roof, then $18K tops. Good luck! What is KBB private party amount BTW?

Save up a couple extra $$ and get this one:
http://www.g8board.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169409 Stryker blue metallic is real rare and especially rare on a GXP. Besides then you would have a LS3 in both rides.

They are great cars. Wife has one. but we decided on a GT as its her DD and the price difference at the time meant she could easily make the GT faster.
Her car. Camaro 20s. painted calipers. Little vinyl. Custom "concept" darts. Solo Axleback. Bout it for now. THen you can go wild like my friends sema widebody G8
