Something you should be doing every workout. Either reps, weight, sets, or any combination

Hi all.

Still following along. I've been back at it to some extent. Shoulder still buggin me so mostly cardio, a lot of leg work, mostly machines and some tri's and bi's. As long as I don't use my shoulder I'm ok.

Feels like I have a strain on my lower Vastus Medialis. Did squats on Monday, went up to 545 lbs, felt great. Later in the evening, as I was cooling down, could really feel the soreness. Still very sore today, does not feel bad enough to put me out at this point. I am pushing hard till Tues next week. Then rest till competition. Work messed me up last night, so I will be doing bench/tri's tonight. Hopefully the leg is strong enough for Deads on Thurs. If not, may need to let it rest.

This close to the competition is just staying strong and not trying to push more weight, but feel good with what I have. It's hard staying healthy as you get a few years on you...hehehehe.

Back when I competed, at 3 weeks out I started deloading and my last actual workout would be the Friday a week before the meet. But that's just me...I've felt like it's really impossible to get any stronger at that point and all you could do is injure yourself.

If I return to the platform this year I will start deloading at 4 weeks.

I know what you mean. I did want to feel 565 lbs on my back this coming Monday, but it may just have to wait till competition time. No need to push if still sore

I am very grateful to have my spin bike in my house, I find that I talk to myself during those last 10 secs of HIIT interval to try to keep my pace up as much as possible. Am I the only one that does that?

Nope.... I do it too... you the only one who can beat your lazy side... unfortunately for me looking for that PR, I end up hurting my shoulder... I have to take it easy to let it heel... I don't want no surgery!

Where is everyone?

I'm on the DL again. Friday went up to 550 and increased the band tension to the strong bands. Made the lift but walking the weight back into the rack my stomach gave out and I lost my air. Went down slightly and strained my lower back.

Going to the chiropractor tomorrow.

That sucks. Injuries sure have been putting a damper on things lately

I'm still lurking around but still have my shoulder bothering me so I'm limited to my work outs but do what I can.
