Swirils on my hood
I got careless with my California duster and put some small swirils on my hood. (I tried taking pics, but they didn't turn out.)
I don't have a machine and would like to try removing them by hand. I was looking at Meguuiars Swiril X or X 2.0 as polish. Does anyone have experience with these products? Also, do I need to strip the wax and clay before using the products?

Those products should do the trick if the scratches are very light.
Yes, strip first. Either Dawn wash or IPA/eraser wipe down on the areas you need.

If scratch X doesn't get the job done, you might try some Meguiars ultimate compound. It will most likely be right next to the scratch X and is a little more abrasive.

Scratch X is a pretty course cut, if the scratches aren't too bad I'd start with Meguiar's ultimate compound. I've applied that by hand before with pretty decent success.
You should really look into buying a Porter Cable 7424XP starter kit though. It's perfect for beginners and you will be thanking yourself for buying it every time you apply compound or wax. Nick C.

Where do you live? If not too far I might be able to help you out.
The California duster can be used if and only if there is barely any dust on the car AND you barely make contact.
