Ok, I wonder if the Mustang guys over at Ford are shaking in their boots by now. What do you think this thing will turn in the 1/4 mile?????

My guess: Low 9s for the 327 and very low 8s for the 427

I found this statement on the GMPP website:

"Application: NHRA Stock Eliminator/Super Stock, off-highway use only, no VIN"

That's just not right (IMO)!!! That's not how the original COPO's were. GM....please make this STREET-LEGAL just like the original COPO's were!!!

I also found these statements on the GMPP website....talking about the original COPO's:

"Unlike other race-only exotics, a COPO Camaro was a true dual-purpose machine, with the hardware to win at the track and the presence to own the drive-in."

"This order code substituted the transistor ignition-equipped all-aluminum ZL1 427/430 V-8 for the L72 427 V-8 found in COPO 9561, creating the Ultimate Weapon for track or street."

Yep, I agree. If anyone wants to build a TRACK ONLY Drag Car....that's what they have the "Body in White" for. The Body in White is available right now through GMPP.
