HELP Problem with Trunk popping open!

I been having this serious problem with the things our other keys in my pocket accidentally pushing the trunk release in my pocket. The button to activate the trunk release is too instantaneous and sensitive, compared to my other cars it takes a good 3-5 seconds of holding down the button to pop the trunk compared to the 1 second of hold for the camaro.

What can i do to solve this problem? At times i carry very important things in my trunk. Its been twice i came back to my car with my trunk popped. Good thing nothing was stolen! I am thinking of getting a plastic case that fully protects and encloses the key pad. I wish there was a longer delay in the trunk. It seems just the slightest tap from other objects in my pocket to set off the trunk.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yep same here. I've come out of places many times to find it open. I would say it is a bad design but you you can't disagree with GM on here without getting slammed

I have the same problem I find mine popped all the time, and I'll say it, it is a bad design the delay should be longer or the button a bit harder to push.

If anybody finds out a good way to overcome this you have my full attention.

Finger exercises so your future trim and slim fingers do not press 2 or 3 buttons on the fob at a time?
Really - I've done that a couple of times. Go to press "lock" and hit both "lock" and "trunk" at the same time. Have hit my knee on the door trunk button too.

It seems allot of fellow members have this issue. I wish there was a case for the key pad that makes the button pressure harder. I have handled toyota's nissan BMW benz audi's all of them have a 3 second delay on the trunk pad. Why not chevy? I would hate to come back to my car one day to have my valuables stolen out of my trunk!
