Removing hood wrap

How many have removed the 1LE hood wrap? Any regrets? Any thoughts on removal hurting resale of the car when it's sold/traded in? Anyone have the wrap start peeling up around the edges where it wraps around the underside of the hood?

Taking the hood wrap off was one of the first things I did and no regrets. Some colors look better with it on, but the Ashen Grey is not one of them in my opinion, so off it went...

Leaving mine for now. But it's a pain to keep looking nice.

I used Adams VRT, but it gives it a shine, which I don't like.

To me, the wrap is one thing that makes the 1LE stand out.. Without it the car looks just like any other SS.

just my opinion......

Mine is Victory Red, and I'm not a big fan of the black hood (nor the black wheels), I guess I'm old school in addition to just being old generally, but I do agree that the black wheels and hood set it apart as being a 1LE. If I did take off the wrap, I'd probably put black SS stripes on it, but then it'd just look like an SS with aftermarket wheels. I guess I'll keep it as is for awhile, but if the hood becomes too hard to keep in its original condition, I'll pull it off.

Oh man, you should've kept the wrap on the white. I'm not a fan of the wrap on most colors, but the white looks so plain- Jane without. But that's just my honest opinion.

mine too. i was at my dealer when i finalized my order and there was a guy pulling off in a white 1LE. i am not a fan of white automobiles, but the contrast made the thang so goddamn sexy. i got the black on black so it prolly wont matter, but i for-one, love the matted hood. no matter what color.

Make sure you wipe it well after applying. It knocks down the shine well. Matches the rear spoiler better with a wiped coat of vrt.

Im gonna keep my car just the way it came from the factory. And if the hood wrap goes bad, Then I will just have it redone again. The black hood is to reduce the glare of the hood from blinding you while on the track or road. It distinguishes the 1LE from the rest And I think it looks BADASS!!!!

I have. And again a few days later. It doesn't look bad. Just not the same as it was bare.

I did have it on for about a month, but I really like it without the wrap. Wrap or no wrap its still a 1le. I think if alot of you do like the wrap perhaps a option would be to remove it and have it painted the maintenance will be alot easier.
