Who's going to take it easy and break the car in properly and who's going to say screw it and open it up as soon as they pull off the lot?

haha here we go with this can o' worms again. But regardless, IMO you should break a car in hard.

I know Chevy has warned against going over 80, but I do not remember the specifics.
@ Stieger I'm not saying you are wrong, but do you have any evidence this works?

That philosophy has never worked against me.... as long as you change oil early too and keep alert on all systems. Why do the call it B R E A K in? See if it breaks?

the link I posted from popular mechanics is pretty informative. Albeit, the opinion of one person, he does make a good argument. basically, don't be too hard but don't be too gentle either. that's what i took from it

Wouldn't an RPM limit make more sense than a MPH limit?

Keeping the speed under 80 is one thing, doing 75 in first gear is entirely different.

The "Darin" procedure should be what all ZL1 owners need to do.

You still need to keep your MPH down for a bit to get things to set in right. I would not go over 4K RPM's for the first 800 miles. And Change the oil at 800 miles along with rear end fluid.
