I had the V6 and recently moved into the V8
V6 is a fine car! It was indeed fast, the only thing for me, was getting up to speed was the issue. this is indeed a heavy car but once you're going, it sure can move! a couple of observations: the v8 is a bumpier ride than the v6. the v6 is much smoother on the roads, highway driving, etc. The V8 will use up more gas than the v6 and insurance costs will have to be accounted for. plus winter tires. on the v8, you can't got smaller than 19" while on the v6, you can toss on 17" winter rims and tires. V8 handles better than v6..at least that's what it feels like to me. exhaust on v6, stock, is pretty tame. both cars are amazing IMO. Good luck with your choice!

My only reservation about my car is that I did not want to wait the 6 weeks it would take to get a manual transmission (purchased December 2009). Otherwise, it is a great car and I have no complaints about the performance/attention it gets

I say get what you want. I like my V6, but I will likely be jumping back to a Challenger. This is purely on the looks of the car. I like them both, but the Challenger has the old school vibe that I like more than any other feature between the two.
Get what you want, so you don;t regret the choice. I have no regrets about my V6, but i had a Challenger and I want my CHallenger back. If I could have them both, I would. But thats just a waste... for now. I guess time will tell. Good luck with whatever you choose.

You know that he made this thread in 2009 right? Seems like he already went with the V6.

It will die when some twisted soul trades their v8 in for a v6. :-)

I've had mine for about 2 years, and getting at least a 1SS down the road has crossed my mind. But you know, I feel that my car is fast enough already (generally). And if you want more speed, you can always turbocharge it.
Now, there should be a thread speculating whether or not SS owners should start thinking about the ZL1 for a nice factory supercharger (but I'm sure it's in here somewhere).

When and if it dies, another will rear it's ugly head in short order.

Probably the ones that want the lower monthly payment, better MPG, and better handling. They probably learned that the roads are not all laid out in quarter mile straight, flat stretches.
