Needing help, New to tuning

So I just got my SCT Tuner in the mail a few minutes ago from JRE. I'm going to install the software on my computer and follow all the steps needed to put the stock tune on the programmer and send it to Ted so he can write my custom tune.

My question is, Even though my tuner is "Blank" with no tunes on it, can I go ahead and disable AFM after uploading the stock tune to the programmer, Without first having Ted put the tune on it?

I do not want to mess anything up, but after I put on my mid pipes AFM is driving me nuts.

Also Ted, If you read this, THANKS!!!! Can't wait to get this thing running how it should have from the factory.

The answer to your question is no. You have no on/off switch for AFM. That's in the tune and since you have no tune you aren't able to shut it off. Download your stock tune on the SCT and send it to Ted. By lunch tomorrow I bet you'll be all set with a new tune and no AFM.

I figured it out now, thanks though.

I realized since I have no tune the "Adjustable options" are not available.

Thanks for y'alls replies though. I'm excited and have sent everything to ted.

Found out the SCT programmer drivers wont work with Windows 8, good thing i have another computer lol. Can't wait to get my car running right!

What Supercharged SS said. Plus, it will only take Ted a day or two to send you the new tune so its not that long of a wait. I think you can manage to have AFM for a couple of days.
