Front Facia Removal

I have some paint booth time coming up in the next week or two and I am planning on painting some stripes on my car.

Has anybody removed their front facia yet? Any tips or suggestions?

Thanks

It shouldn't be necessary. Talk to your painter.

That's pro body work material not DIY IMO*. Getting fitment on the reinstall is gonna be a bitch. Good luck.

BTW The grill is not the fascia. The Fascia is the front bumper cover.

edit: Reading the OP again do you mean the grill? That should not be too hard to remove just take a look. Probably 8mm bolts or torx.

I can paint. I think I can handle some stripes. Just not a car guy.

Wow... Nice bikes. Custom chopper is going to be my next toy after my Camaro.

PS: That burnt orange is the color I wish GM would've made an option for the Camaro.

Taking the entire front fascia off and putting it back on is what I was saying get a pro. Not the painting.

And please don't take offense I am like a robot on the machine. It was not a critical of your resume just it's the answer to removing it and getting it on back as good as factory.

If it's easy and perfect i'll eat crow. But if it's like past Camaro's and I have replaced the whole front end a few times. Comes out aweful when I do it. I was saying let a pro because it requires that caliber of skill. That's all I can gell from "front facia removal".

Without a resume to click on or more background. Again that's robotic lol remove emotion please.

Rick,

Thanks! That is exactly what I was looking for.

Vash,

No offense taken. Sorry if I puffed out my chest a bit

Chris,

Thanks! That color is a tangerine candy over silver and gold.

Nice job! What are you wanting to do, that you think the fascia needs to be removed?

I wanted to have the stripes extending onto the facia. I would like to clear that whole facia and was concerned about just taping it at the joint. I have only painted bikes and didn't know what was 'proper' for cars.

If you want to go into that much detail, consider this... The hood is framed by the fenders and fascia, GM went to great detail to get the body gaps and heights correct and they did an excellent job from what I've seen so far. The reason I'm telling you this, it takes skill to re-gap the hood to the fenders and fascia without removing it, even more-so R&R-ing the fascia. Consider letting a pro do that part.

Guess I coulda saved some time here...
