A little road trip back to Michigan in the ATS.

Was able to get two sets of clubs in the trunk with a little room for luggage. Good!

A really nice ride. Compared to the Audi, which is just a bit firmer, the ATS really made the drive nice.

Fuel Economy was just a tad under 30 mpg. Which isn't bad for my driving habits, but the S4 sill does a bit better.

For the base seats, really comfortable.

CUE is pretty slick. It has the Audi beat and for the money, CUE with NAV (which we didn't get) is better than on Audi and the CUE with NAV would be about a $1,000 less.

Quiet as you would expect for a Cadillac.

The 2.0T pulls pretty well for a 4 cylinder. But it also has the problem of sounding like a 4 cylinder. No noticeable turbo lag. Well balanced and does well with the 6 speed. Would think the rumored 8 speed will make this a very good powertrain combination.

All in all I still like the Audi better but that is mostly because of the drivetrain. 3.0T with 7 speed DCT and full time AWD make for a tough package to beat. But the ATS is a pretty nice package.

But the first year Z06 cost what the Z51 LT2 I priced out. So I'm afraid any Z06 will just wave at 100Gs on the way by..................making the Z/28 seem almost CHEAP by comparison.
You would know better than most, but the C7 on display at the Heritage looked like it was flood ready. The other C7s seen during Woodward had different lower stances though none looked Zish unless you visualized Zish body work. If they release the C7 in the Heritage stance lowering will be a big business

I agree, why so much gap?

Sorry if this is a repost... but for those discussing the potential for a new Z06 Corvette I found this nugget.

"The mooted price: $100,000. This might be the most fabulous new spec of all, seeing as it would represent a $24,400 increase over the Z06 and just a $12,600 undercut of the ZR1. Compare and contrast: in 2001, the first year of the Z06, the MSRP of a 350-hp Corvette coupe was $40,725, the MSRP of the 385-horsepower Z06 was $48,500; if CD is correct, the 2014 Corvette's sea level will be established by the 455-hp Stingray that costs $51,995 and in 2015 we'll be staring down the twin, forced-induction barrels of a 600-hp, twin-turbo Z07 that starts at six figures and that could still be leaving room for a new ZR1 late in the model's lifetime."

Interesting. However the Z06/Z07 is already close to $100K.

A) The Z07 is a package on the Z07 so why would that be the trim level now?
B) I hope the Z06 remains N/A or they should drop the Z06 all together.

Did anyone notice this? Was extracted from a clip and enlarged. Probably shows what the new platform design is like. Notice is says GM CONFIDENTIAL on the screen! Interesting. It looks like they are incorporating the new narrow grill into the smaller wheelbase version and the new taillight design.....so current model is getting crowd used to transition. Lighter more nimble coming soon! With a V6 TT. Functional rear brake vents. Taller spoiler. Looks like stock version.... no fog lamps, no hood vents.
