Tire rotation

Are the front and rear wheels the same on the 1LE; that is, can they be rotated front to back? I think the tires are directional, so they can't be rotated side to side. I thought I saw something on here indicating that the offset on the wheels is different front to back, so they can't be rotated front to back. Inquiring minds want to know.

Wheels are different front and back so if you want to rotate, you'll have to a dismount/remount.

Has anybody bought 2 more front wheels for the rear? Will the 20x10s work in the rear? Are they the correct backspacing, etc? A true square setup would be rockin!

Question

has anyone considered or tried putting two 11" wide rears on the front?

Someone did (by accident - wheels were marked wrong) and they hit. 11" wheels will not fit on the front. Has anyone thought about rotating tires on the rims (front tire to back rim - back tire to front rim), or is the risk of rim damage to great?

everytime you dismount/remount you risk damging the rim and tire....I've seen it firsthand on a ZR1. The tech was NOT excited!

you wouldn't happen to know by how much the fronts hit would you? A good body shop could roll the fenders or add a good flair to fix the clearance issues.

The rub the suspension (ie: inside of the wheel), not the fender.

If you want a bigger wheel in the front, you have to go aftermarket and get the correct back spacing.

And there is no real reason to rotate. The whole purpose of rotating (for cars with the same wheels and tire sizes front and rear) is to get even wear on the fronts and rears, and thus replace the entire set at one time. There is no problem with replacing them in pairs as they need to be replaced.

The rotation helps prolong any replacement as the centers on the back wear as the corners on the fronts wear. I guess it just can not be worried about with this car.

I know the 11's won't work in the front....but can you put 10's on the rear?
