The problem with sound clips is they really don't seem to do the systems justice. I suggest going to a club meet and sampling what others have in person.

very true, but that limits you down to the systems of the people you meet, the best one might not even be there

Borla is known for the "crackle", they have it on all their systems. All exhaust does not crackle. That being said.....

I LOVE MY ATAK!!! LOL

Right you are. I've been shopping for months, and have switched at least 3 times on what system I want. The Flowmaster AT had me for a long time. Then I heard two different Camaro's with the ATAK, and I wanted it. Ultimately, I decided on a 3" system, and chose the SW Retro Chambered. Never heard one in person, so I hope I'll like it. We'll see by the end of the week...

Man this is a fun subject. I have had the Magnaflow street catback, the magnaflow competition cat back and the flowmaster AT catback.

1st was flowmaster AT catback. (decided it was a little loud)
2nd Magnaflow Street (decided it was to popcorny and weak)
3rd Magnaflow Competition Axle Back (sounded like glasspacks :Vomit: )
4th Went back to flowmaster AT catback ( low, aggressive, Old muscle sound)
5th I think I am going to go with the JBA competition catback to match my headers.. it sounds INCREDIBLE! and its a good bridge between the weak and the throaty.

My two cents.. I've also had doug thorley longtubes 1 3/4 and JBA longtubes 1 7/8

So many exhausts!!! I'm not an expert on exhausts by any means, i've still got alot to learn so my next question is, if I get the AT and long tube headers, will it produce a louder sound and retain the lower growl?

You need to find some one in your area that has what you are considering and hear it in person.

I don't know where "whittier" is but I'm in San Diego.
If you want to hear my set up in person we can do that.... My set up explained above (videos).

Flowmaster AT is SIK, had it on my 1LT and loved the quality sound but i guess the DRONE level got to me in the end and had to replace them with CORSA catback system.

Had the Flowmaster AT on my ex Corvette C6 and it was the shizZle! !

I have the American Thunder Cat-Back. I was very very pleased with the tone and rumble of the flowmaster exhaust, but I was very disappointed with the lacking of "loudness".
add some HiFlowCats and/or headers.

my muffler delete that I had made,, I ended up buying V-clamps like are used on all of the turbo connections and had those installed on my magnaflow mufflers and had new stainless steel pipes made with them as well, so i can change from mufflers to straight exhaust in about 5 minutes!

I have attached a very short video to let you see. (the audio is not great on the video, but you will get the idea)
