Blower motor noise???

I've noticed that whenever I have my A/C or heater on with the blower motor speed dial above about 1/4 away, my blower motor sounds like it has bearings going out or something. It is kinda quite, I can still hear it with the radio on about 12. More anoying that anything else. Has anyone else experianced this or is there something wrong with my car?

I have the same thing. When the A/C or Heater is on the noise comes from the motor. Pretty loud too.

You might check out this thread - I'm having the same problem with mine and will check w/ my dealer when I take it in. Seems to only occur after she's been driven at highway speeds for an extended period of time (and if I have the radio turned up, I don't hear it).

Mine was making noise too. I have taken it back two times to the dealer and they have replaced the motor both times with no questions asked. It's running fine now. It was also covered under the warranty!

The bearings in my blower motor were dead when I bought the car used from the dealership. Apparently no one there could really tell when they accepted the car but damn I sure could. Sounded like a bad PC fan (which is what I was used to hearing)

They fixed it as soon as the part came in. Now it's nice.

Your dealer should be able to take care of this. If anyone having this issue is having trouble getting this taken care of let me know. I'll do what I can to help.

Thanks Jeff.

Just to vouch for the taking it in solution - I had the exact same problem. Took my car in and complained of a dry bearing sound. They ordered the parts and my car is actually going in this afternoon for the installation.

I have this as well, but I just ignore it...every vehicle I've ever owned was from GM & every single one had this problem

Jeff, this is only something covered under the 3 year 36000 mile warranty correct or no?

Yes. This would only be coverable under the bumper to bumper warranty (or possibly a GMPP Major Guard). The Powertrain warranty would only cover the engine and transmission and things that are associated with the propulsion of the vehicle.
