Probably because it will be easier to hook at the track. 1000rwhp on a road course will be hard to do, at least I think so....

I think this thread is a little unfair for those automatic guys. Especially if they are running a convertered 4L80E with a 9" with big slicks and a tall gear on a mustang dyno. A 940RWHP auto is making the same power as a 1000RWHP manual and that is with a stock drivetrain, tires ect. The margin will be even worse with a conveter,4L80E, 9 ", gears, tall tires ect, ect... I think you need a 9.9 ET and below thread. Lets see how many manual cars make that list.

Guys...can we please not turn this into a dynos are crap and the only thing that matters is your slip thread?

I get it. 1000 RWHP means nothing to some if you don't have great numbers at the track. I also know that you can do many different things to get your car to go faster, and HP is only one of them.

We already have an official quarter mile thread and an unofficial one. This is simply a fun way to see who's car made 1000+ on the dyno. Nothing more.

Wasn't really meant to be about fair and unfair, but there are cars making over 1000+ on 4L80s. Here's my builder's car (Owen from ARD). Full weight, LSX 468, with nitrous and a 4L80. Makes 1020 RWHP, and 1065 RWTQ. You can see more 9 second cars in the 1/4 mile threads.

yes, my car.
the blue line on the dyno sheet is rwhp.
redline on dyno sheet is torque.
green line on dyno sheet is boost.
brown line on dyno sheet is air/fuel
far left side of the dyno sheet has numbers from 300 to 1000 which is horse power. notice how the highest point of the blue line on the dyno sheet lines up with the 1017 point on the far left number column.

weight is 3900 with 1/2 tank of gas and no driver.
vortech ysi 17.5 pounds of boost.
427 rhs block
9 inch rear which eats up more rwhp than the chevy rear
4.11

Wow...there is the big ongoing discussion about running cats with high HP/Tq applications. No problems with cat failure? Are these the ARH hi-flow cats that come with their standard header kit? What size headers?

Yea...I know what the lines mean. Just didn't see the number.

Looks like you're the first one going up.
