There is another member here (cornerspeed92) that is running this year as well. He has a Red 2013 1LE. I think he's posted about it in the Road Race/Track Autocross subforum. Might want to do a search there for silver state classic and find his thread. Might be able to get in touch with him and get some pointers as i know he has run it in the past.
This looks like a lot of fun and I've already told myself I need to do this one year. Just need to make plans on what year that will be and make sure the car is ready and meets their rules/requirements. I know they require a fire extinguisher to be inside the car within reach of the driver while belted in. Even for street cars. So make sure you spend some time reading over their tech requirements before you get there!

Just got home today, the race was on Sunday.
I was a blast everyone there were very nice people. The event is a first class event. I ran in the 110 mph class. 90 miles in 49 minutes 20 seconds about 15 seconds above the perfect time. It was good for my first effort in this type of event. the winner of my 110 class was over the perfect time by less than a 1/2 second. these guys are good that run this type of event. I was able to meet Mark from this forum, He ran his 1LS in the 140 mph class, Great Guy There was also a guy from Texas that had a 2014 Black Z/28 with a Hennessy Conversion It was very cool. We drove back to vegas together, 2 Black Z/28's running across the desert very fast. (at times over 120 mph) Check out these pictures. You need to put this race on your bucket list, Guys were there from all over the United States & Canada. One guy came from Norway Driving a Vector |

My daughter (navigator) and I (driver) did the Pony Express 100 (Austin to Battle Mountain, NV), in 1997, the week after she graduated from high school. It was one of the most memorable things we ever did together!
Lots of fun running mom's Diesel Dodge 2500 across the desert at over 100 MPH!!!! As novices, we won our class!
