The suspense is killing me ... I check GM Connects 5 times a day or more.

Order so far:

01/11/2012(1100) Order placed at dealership. Order passed GM edit tables but dealer has not received allocation to place order.
01/11/2012(1102) Order entered via web.
01/13/2012(2030) Order edited or modified.
01/17/2012(2000) Order accepted by GM. Dealer used allocation to place order into production.
01/17/2012(2500) Order preferenced. Order pulled to the production system.
01/17/2012(3000) Order accepted by production control. Parts being ordered and production process is underway.
01/20/2012(3100) Order available to sequence.
01/20/2012(3300) Order scheduled for production. Order is scheduled into the plant build cycle.
01/24/2012(3400) Order Broadcast (internal plant paperwork order produced). Order is sent to various build & supplier areas to bring order together.
01/30/2012(3800) Order produced and vehicle is being prepared for shipping. For Cadillac, GMC and Buick customers, please contact your dealer or customer service for further updates as no further updates available at this time.
01/30/2012(4000) Vehicle available to ship.
01/30/2012(4150) Invoiced (order is invoiced to the dealer).
01/30/2012(4B00) Your car is bayed and is waiting for transportation by truck, rail or transfer to vendor.
02/01/2012(4200) Shipped (vehicle is shipped to the dealer or interim point of delivery).

Cosmic, I'm so jealous! You're a few days ahead of me and a big closer to Oshawa I signed up for GMconnect text alerts so I'm not using up all my battery by checking on my phone!

When your car is shipped your dealer can call the GM Dealer Business Center and get your railcar#. You can use the automated phone service here to track your car by rail

CSX is everything east of the mississippi
Up is everything west of the mississippi

But they all start out on CSX so once they have it in there system they will follow it all the way.

How do I track my car on a railcar?

First and most important. Never talk to live personnel at the railroad! Only use automated phone system. If it attempts to transfer you to a live person please hang up. The railcar information we are provided by GM is given as a courtesy and if we call live personnel we will lose our data and ability to track
CSX
1. Call the CSX 1-800-235-2352 1-800-235-2352
2. When prompted for location or weight, press "1" on your phone for location.
3. When prompted for the car initials, say ETTX (whatever initials you have) then wait for the next prompt. OR key in 32-81-81-92 (for ETTX)(letter and position on your phone)
4. When prompted for the car number, say 907048 or key in whatever your car number is
5. When prompted for next car say DONE.
6. That's it; enjoy your updated status report.

Union Pacific
1. Call UP at 1 800 877-5123 1 800 877-5123
2. Follow phone prompts for Trace
3. Say the railcar number complete and clearly. Example ETTX123456 all together
4. Listen for your update

These automated systems can be frustrating. Keep in mind they are intended for use by folks that use them daily all day long. Like I said if you are being transferred to a live person please hang up and try again.

It won't be long now for either of us. I wish I could go to the factory and pick it up myself but not gonna happen. My dealer told me it should arrive by the 13th going by past experiance. I feel like a little kid waiting for Santa to arrive.
