Cool 2011 Camaro to begin sales in Germany in Spring 2011

The Camaro will finally be introduced into the German market, home of the fabled Nurburgring track where the Camaro was often spotted in testing during its preproduction phase.

The Camaro will enter the German market as a 2011 model year, and is expected to have its official introduction at the AMI in Leipzig in the spring of 2011. No performance #'s have been released yet for the Germany Camaro version, nor has as pricing information. However, independent auto importers have been importing Camaros into Germany for approximately 40,000 - 50,000 Euros.

Congrats to our German members, as you will soon have your shot at owning your own version of our beloved 5th Gen Camaro! Source: http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de

My parents live in the Netherlands, according to my dad (quite the gearhead) there were rumors about a 4cyl and a 3.0 6 cyl line up. Have no clue how accurate those rumors are.

That's awesome!! I'm not paying the Euro price though. That's way too much when you convert it back to dollars. I'll wait until I get back to the states.

The linked article mentions that they will offer the V8 from the beginning while the V6 will become available later on. They do not mention other engines, although I could imagine smaller turbocharged ones, because the average European is pretty frightened by large-displacement engines....

In any case, prices will most probably be rather high (look at how much the Corvette costs in Europe compared to the USA) and I for one don't like rear amber turn signals.

Only way to go for me is get my 2SS/RS in the USA.

They're expensive in Australia because they're required by law to be converted to have the driver on the right. Can't drive any unconverted American-style car there unless it's 24 years old or more.

They will do very well in Germany. Fast, small, and efficient.
