But it really tans my hide when GM is trying to rise up to this reputation of having the least amount of issues with their cars.

I mean...everyone with a Camaro has most likely experienced a problem with one of the most commonly used parts of the car.....the RADIO. What do we do when we drive? We listen to the radio. Whether it be a cd, XM, FM/AM, a USB stick, an Ipod, a Zune, etc...people listen to music.

If you have a broken music player, it ticks you off.

If you have a broken music player which dealerships tell you can't be fixed, what does that do for the reputation of Chevy?

That's not me....

That's the impression that thousands of Camaro buyers are getting right now....not to mention the people that are passengers IN the cars when they have those problems.

I know that GM is working on this TSB issue...but in the meantime, more and more people (who also don't know about what is going on) are trying to get their cars fixed. I just think it shows a bad angle of GM and things need to speed up.

I mean, hey...I got mine fixed after several trips to the dealer. I finally found this thread, took in the laptop, showed them what was going on, and got mine replaced and updated to what it needed to be.

THANK YOU TO ANCIRA WINTON FOR FIXING MY PROBLEM!!!

Mine is fixed now, but because I have a 2010 year model, I had to buy PN 20985421 and install it myself.

Great customer service, huh?

Papa, just plug in your USB and then push in the menu button on the right and hold it. It'll tell you which version you have....not which part number, but which version.

You will either have the DA-DX or the DB-DB. If you don't have the DB-DB you will need a new module.

I think it will largely depend on when the car was built. Mine was built at the beginning of 2011 production (7/20) and I had the CE/CC or whichever it was, but it was the old numbers.

I just got the PDIM kit from Tonkin Chevrolet installed and I have no issue with my IPOD. It plays fine and I can sequence through.

I just had my car serviced for the paint chipping around the rear spolier. and while they had it there I asked them to check the radio as the Ipod would not connect to it. They replaced the module and software and it is now a DB/DB service mgr said that was the latest version and it works great now it is much faster when indexing much better overall.

If you get the latest PDIM (PN 20985421), it will have the latest software in it. Your HW/SW code will be DB/DB.

I have the parts guy I purchased my PDIM kit (for my 1SS) swearing that the DA/DX PDIM in the kit (which only works with 2010) is also the "latest" as well based on his numerous conversations with the internal GM parts supply people he's had over the past couple of weeks. I have no reason to doubt him at all.

Is "HW ID" DA the new design or not?

I know that it's being claimed that "HW ID" DB is the latest, but what is "HW ID" DA?
