Bro it is not a $20k paint job for the car. I did some checking over a year ago on this and the total for stripping the car, taking all the body parts off, doing a three to four stage paing jod of PBC-30 and the clear coat comes to around $12.5-14K for every thing.

If they want to make a special edtion why not let the buyer at least pick the motor and trans options! Could you imagin a 572 big block fuel injected with six speed manual trans. Then the color would not be the issue you would have a bumblebee race car for the streets !

You know they will jack the price up on this one just because it will be considered a Limited Edition. I figure all of the Transformers emblems and little extras on this one will be avaliable after market so those of you that wants all the little extras but don't like rally yellow, your gonna still be able to get what you want without paying a bloody fortune.

Epic fail imo. If they are going to do a run like this they have to get the paint color correct first.

I saw five Camaros at Daytona back in Feb. One black SS, A silver RS, the Dale Jr. edition and a couple Pace cars for the race. They all looked great but really didn't like the wheels on the Dale Jr. edition. The car was black on top and white on bottom with black interior with a red accent on the dash coming around on to the doors with looked good. I believed it had the white faced gauges.
I also saw a burgandy 2010 Camaro SS at a local dealer near me yesterday which looks great, they sold a black one this passed Wed. I've owed five vette and now I'm wanting Camaro bad.

For all those that want it to be the yellow from the movies as well as the new hood and fascia and all the other things to make it a true bumblebee , do you also want the car to cost an extra $20 000 on top of what they are already going to charge? I don't know about you but I can't picture too many people who would ever be willing to spend ~$60 000 on an SS bumblebee.

Naw screw it.. for a couple of reasons..

One: Car companies, like all other companies, are sluts. They'll advertise something as "limited edition" and then, if sales are really hot, they'll just keep going, keep producing, keep selling, til the hype, and value has been raped.

Two: This isn't even a replica. Short stripes, Rally Yellow, cheesy badging, trim choices (V6 & V8)... it's just "smart" bargain-basement marketing with the hopes of a BIG return.

Sucks.
