it will hurt mpg if the gear is lower as in such...(higher numerical value) so yes... but that change will seem marginal..now if u go for like a 4.11 u will get lots of torque but lose gas mileage for sure..at least 2-3 mpg easy

I'm doing it within the next two weeks, if I ever get my torque converter from Jannetty.
I think it's a mod best suited with a torque converter. By itself on a stock L99, I expect it to just give you a nice "feel" but minimal measureable results. I expect it will enable me to be in the middle of my power band when I go through the traps, rather than at the bottom. I'll post up install pics and results when I get it done. I have the pumpkin waiting, just waiting on my TC. Padre |

Would this be better in the
V8 and V6 Transmissions / Driveline (6L80 / 6L50 / TR6060 / AY6) forum? Padre |

I'm not totally useless..
|
Not sure it will be "enough" of a change to write home about...
Now some 3.60's or 3.73 would be an eye opener! Of course mileage would suffer a tad....

I've gone from the 3.27's to the 4.10's and now to the 3.45's. With enough power it should be enough. With only 550 rwhp the 4.10's should be good to go.

Jas, I drove it about 100 miles this weekend. First time with this enigine and rear. But yes, it shifted the same as stock. I would say the r's were about 2k for 75mph. I never was able to just mat it from a stop but as with all of Ted's stuff its shifted great. But so did the 4.10's |

in the pcm, you enter the new diff ratio, and you can have the trans tables auto multiply...so your shift points adjust, etc. kinda like a tire change.

Ted was explaining to me that the tables didn't auto-multiply and that he had to change each value individually that he wanted to. I have no idea what needs to be done but thats what I got out of it. Nevertheless my car shifts good! |

i saw the auto correct trans tabes switch, but have never used it, so i cant say with certainty. but if the man says it isnt so, then i guess it isn't so.
