Little V6 camaro catches v8 mustang on the race track
Ok so this is my track day a few months ago in my 2011 1LT RS/RS at Fontana (calif speedway)Those of you that dont know in track days passing is done by a "point bye"(since were just out there to have fun) system which basically means if someone is in your mirror their faster then you and you have to let them by.So that being said obviously my V6 isn't faster then a V8 in a straight line, but since this is a camaro forum thought you might like seeing a camaro catch and pass a faster mustang on the track. At about the 4 min mark i have him in my sights so watch and enjoy this is a 10 min video.

I'm not shocked, I can't tell by the video, but if it's a pre-2010 (i think) Mustang, it's a V8 with like... 300 HP V8, so I'm not shocked your V6 passed it.

Pretty cool video. Thanks for sharing!
You can tell by the tail-lights when he passes it, that the Mustang is a 10 - 12 model. It may be a 2010 with the 315 horse V8, or maybe not since it pulled away pretty good on one of the straights before he passed it.

So was this with NASA? I am looking forward to getting back into doing some track days this coming year with my new 2013 1LS. It should be fun with the 6 speed.

It may be a V6. If you pause it at 7:12 I cant see a badge. Ford doesn't put fender badges on the 2011+ V6 models. They put the Pony badge on the 2010 V6s and the GT badge on the 2010 V8s, and the 5.0 badge on the 2011+ V8s. It also looks to have those long black stickers down the side below the door. I've only seen one V8 with those stickers, but a ton of V6 models with them.
