I always thought of muscle car as a sub category of sports car.

I think of any high performance car as a sports car and that there are different types: muscle cars, pony cars, roadsters, exotics, supercars, etc. with some of those categories overlapping into each other.

I could be wrong but thats how I think of it.

Great car, but it's a "Pony Car"... not a Muscle Car.

I voted muscle since there wasn't a pony car vote.

This Wiki post does a good job of defining "Muscle Cars" as well as identifying the Pony Car entries from the automakers. Good read...

I voted sports. Having owned SS Nova, Vette and now my SS Camaro. At my age I tell people this is my last sports car.

Honestly WGAF.

Muscle car is a term from days gone by. It's not relevant in this day and age. Using "sports" to to describe a camaro is a stretch in my opinion.

How about two door coupe? After all that's what it is.

Sure the first gen Camaro was a pony car and maybe some of the other gens could still be called pony cars, but the 5th gen is way too big and heavy. The older gens look like toys parked next to a fifth gen!!
