I just ordered the Range AFM disable device that plugs into the OBD-II port...
Just one question, where is the OBD II port located?
FYI - I ordered this device: http://www.amazon.com/Range-Technolo...=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

Thx

** edit to add that I think I found it. Is it the port below the dash to the left of the trunk release?

Oh well, but I doubt you take plastic as it's that time of the year where my credit card heats up.

Yes, that's it.

Thanks, guys....

For the folks that have the AFM disabled, do you feel better acceleration/performance from the L99?

This module does not improve performance in any way and is not meant to. As for acceleration no to off the line, "maybe" you'll feel a bit when cruising and the car is in AFM mode. All this module is meant for is a cheap way to keep your warranty while getting rid of the annoying AFM farting sound. With that said it’s well worth it if you are not willing to tune.

Thanks - I have noticed the farting sound already as I have only had the car a week with approx. 200 miles on it. Before seeing this thread, I had wondered why it would make that sound through a factory stock exhaust system.

I have been running the axleback borla S for several years now. And yes!! when the AFM kicked in at a steady cruising speed of 40 mph, it was like driving a ricer, terrible sound, 4 cylinders. For a while I used the paddle shifters to keep AFM away. Finally got a Jannetty fix (AFM out) and now 40 mph or 70 mph it sounds like sweet misic.

In a way, I say the module is not noticeable. In that you drive the car the way it was meant to be driven. You just never have your enjoyment ruined by hearing or feeling the AFM kick in or out. It does work.

S-type with drone on an A6 over 75 mph. As suggested here, best way to find out is to put it in sport mode and shift it manually to see if the drone goes away. AFM does not kick in when manually shifting.

The Borla S Axel-Back setup is what I plan to go to and either Rotofab or a CAI unit as I build up my mods fund. Anything more will have to wait a few years for my warranty to expire as a Supercharger system would be after that (and probably headers).

I was noticing that when I'm accelerating while cruising the exhaust sound has a very deep steady buzzing or humming sound inside of the car. Is that the way the Borla S is supposed to sound or is that caused by the resonator and/or AFM? What I was wanting and thought was going to get was more of a clean rumbling sound.
