fast intake issues?
Hey Guys, I currently in the process of putting an f1x with the lsx427 and have a fast 102 on it right now. I was curious if anyone has actually had a fast 102 explode. I don't want to run a sheet metal and kill my torque, but I want something that will hold up. Thanks

also read you can epoxy it all together and it will hold better boost wise. I wouldn't worry about it under 10psi just put together as factory. Above that, you may ponder on it. Over on Tech you will find more info and testing...some said 15psi is the breakover point..some said 12psi. So that made me say "10" or below is OK. I did a lot of research on it when we did my cam swap. You said F1x...so IMO...I think you will be out of the safe range. If I was going as serious as you named off, I'd run a stock ls3 until I had the extra budget for a nice custom fabbed alum. model.

I have ls7 heads, so I was thinking of getting the stock ls7 manifold. I really like the wilson sheet metal intake, but they said it moves the powerband by 1000rpm. I will be starting off at around 16psi, then maybe someday going up to 25 if need be

Stock ls7 manifolds has made 1600+rwhp. I had a fast 102 but saw a few blow apart or more often just leak badly.

That intake won't fit. I don't believe holley has a high rise for ls7 heads. That is a cathedral head highrise and they have a ls3/l92 style. Even so, until he hits 1600+rwhp no need to mess with it.
