Places to go in the US!

Hey all.. I need suggestions!

Im from NY, and I traveled a lot around the world, but .. never in the US! I've been countless times to NJ and CT. Miami, FL once (very young), and the last 2 trips to San Diego (la jolla area), CA. I personally love San Diego the best and its been my vacation spot the last 2 times. I am going to see Vegas for 5 days next month. I don't care where the suggestion is, but I want to start seeing more of the US. Maybe tell me where some of you are all from or good places to go? It doesn't matter to me if its laid back, quiet, non city. I just want to start seeing more places. Vegas is the last trip of this year for me, but next year I'll have 3-6 weeks of time to check places out. I want to go to at least 4 places. Maybe some of the places could be driving distance from each other

Check out the San Juan Mountains of south west Colorado. The cities of Durango and Silverton should not be missed. Also while in the area take a ride on the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

and the best way to get there, is to drive. THe Smoky Mountains, drive the Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway. OR the Black Hills of South Dakota, Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, Bryce Canyon, Redwood Forest. just to name a few.

I was going to say to enjoy the landscapes as well. Like the Nashville area for example - some beautiful views available in this country without ever leaving the interstate.

Yosemite is amazing! Especially in the spring -- nice waterfalls and smaller crowds than summer.

I have seen most of our beautiful contry from the ground and from behind the wheel of a car, or on my Harley, the are only 7 states I have NOT Driven through: Alaska, North Dakota, Minnasota, Iwoa, Michigan, South Carolina, and Maine. I try to make my trips on a lot of untraveled roads to see a lot of beautiful places, just zipping along on the interstates, you miss a LOT!
