Welcome to the gen5 club. Mine is similar to yours and I enjoy mine. Next the modding will start. Enjoy.

If I could do it again, I would start with a supercharger. It is just bolt on horsepower. The cam sounds good but the supercharger gives better street driving. You can always cam later. If you cam first, you have to design the cam with the supercharger in mind. Find a good tuner. I am lucky. I use Ryan at GPI. He is a master. It could be worth your trip to have gpi do yours. They stand behind their work and get all the hp for your modding $$

Luckily I have a good shop down here, Lethal racing. After finding out I have no mufflers on car I'm adding a cherry bomb cat back exhaust Friday. I can't stand the popping noise when decelerating

Before you do that, check out the different exhausts from borla. The core muffler design is well made and the sound will not change over time. I have the full stainless catback Atak version and I love it.

I have borla as well. J pipes were a must. The drone was terrible from1800 to 2200 rpm.

Drone noise? I hear people talk about hearing a drone noise from time to time but I've never heard the exhaust produce the drone noise. Then again I rarely if ever use 6th gear. Now cruising at highway speeds(65-70mph) in 6th can produce a drone noise that is channeled from the drive-train while under increased load (possible lugging conditions causing the noise?).
Either way, be sure to explore all your options when it comes to exhaust. I must have seen every camaro exhaust video on youtube before settling on the option that I went with. If you happen to meet up at the upcoming Ragin Bowties cruise, you can talk with some of the other 5th gen guys to checkout the options that they went with in person. https://www.facebook.com/RaginBowties/ Don't know why the page says there are 30 likes when the group has over a 100 active members from all over south Louisiana. I sure hope they aren't shutting down, But then again I can't get in contact with them.
I put a catback cherrybomb exhaust on friday. Got rid of the deceleration popping, but the sound on inside of car is kind of agggrevating. |
