Summer Road Trip / Planning stage for Route 66

YOU need to do some research, there is a lot to see on Route 66, but a lot of it you have to really search for to find. There are some easy ones, but some of what was listed before isn't actually on Route 66, the Big Texan is off Interstate 40. If your stopping in Oklahoma, there are a lot of good sights to see, but finding them can be a challenge, roads not really marked well in Oklahoma, or Texas for that matter. I can also tell you that if you're not looking closely, you'll never find the Corner in Winslow Arizona, so no standing on the corner. If I go to Camaro Fest in Indy, I'll be traveling out Route 66 to Sprignfield, IL to get a Cozy Dog before making the turn to Indy. Get the 8 maps from one of the Route 66 Associations that cover each state that Route 66 runs through, they will help you find the way...Good luck.

You'll have to decide that for yourself, but I will tell you that the guys standing in front of the little bar across the street with be sure to let you know they are there. We ended up having a few beers with them, then walking down the street for a while sight-seeing.
