Drive-able supercharger

I drive my 2011 2SS/RS M6 100 miles per day. I want more HP but don't want to kill my freeway MPG.

1) Is this possible? (I saw something on Horsepower TV about a CA legal "passive" supercharger)

2) Is this possible w/o killing my warranty? GMPP offers a supercharger.....

3) I'm a little obsessed with having more HP than my buddy's 392.......

Please advise........

This is great! An interesting question, but consider: to make more power you will in fact need more air/fuel/spark. Unfortunately, this does not bode well with "conserving" fuel. Get a decent shot of N2O and some bolt ons and you'll be fine.

If you run a Maggie, e-force, or whipple right out of the box with their tune on a stock car you can get a warranty with them but your factory warranty will be done. Some dealers with performance centers offer install that will retain your warranty.

Basically get a Maggie and have fun

I was actually considering getting a bottle but figured that was a quick end to the warranty.

So, if I have my dealer install the GMPP supercharger, I may be good?

I figure I'll back into the budget once I know the solution to the problem.

I don't want to be beat by anyone on my drive to work (or my buddy)

You'll probably find more performance dealers who install maggies then the gmpp one. No one really uses that. It's over priced and smaller than the aftermarket ones.

So in that case, I"m pretty much screwed if I want a supercharger and my extended warranty?

correct^^. Just take it to a reputable shop/vendor and let them do the work. Tell them to keep it conservative and you shouldn't have many (hopefully not any) issues.

Also, isn't this the same SC that comes on the CTS-V and LS9?

You have the ability to purchase a kit from a supporting vendor, have it installed using their manufacturer supplied tune and get a 3 year 36,000 mile warrenty.
one suggestion would be to contact " Blown Chevy" he is a supporting vendor in your area and can also provide install w/ warrenty.

Magnuson is one such manufacturer that offers their tune along with a warrenty. I am sure there is also others available.

You may want to check out the redesigned SLP Units.(Sharp looking case imho) Chevy dealers(as well as other authorized vendors) are selling and installing with warranties the new redesigned SLP Eaton TVS2300 Rotor based units(same as in Magnacharger and EForce which you can also get warranties for)

You really can't go wrong with any of the choices now. Bypass valves allow you to run at cruise speeds with very little change in fuel mileage.( still getting 22-23 mpg at 70-75 mph highway on the EForce with other exhaust mods and no warranty)
Lots of info on here Think through want you really want and like Ray@RDS said, talk to a vendor. They are really great on here.Good luck.
