1st time at the track stock 2012 SS/RS auto

Took my Wife's stock 2012 Camaro SS/RS auto with 10k miles on it to the drags last Friday. It was a warm & muggy night so my hope for low 13s felt more like a pipe dream.

I had a .007 reaction time on my 1st run.
With traction control off, launching at 1000rpm my times were 13.6-7
With traction control off (+8sec hold), launching at 1500rpm my times were 13.5-6
My 60ft were 2.1s no mater what I tried. My best was a 2.101.

I will head back out in Oct when the DA should be much better.

Some of my other cars best times all stock at the same track.
2010 Challenger SRT8 auto 12.8
2010 Mustang GT auto 13.4
2008 Grandprix GXP auto 13.8
2002 Trans AM auto 13.2
2000 Camaro SS 6sp manual 13.1

My 1st run 1000rpm launch. I'm 396D. My son is 397D

My best run 1500rpm launch. I'm 396D

@ OP, you can go here:

http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...t+Weather+Data

To calculate the DA.

Good start with the car, I watch the engine temps quite a bit when I was stock, and I would got WOT as quickly as I could without spinning bad... best was 1.94 but I tried that like 20 times.

DA was 1230 & track prep is always bad at the track I go to. A 1.9 60ft is hard to get on stock tires at that track. In my SRT8 with stock tires & a light peddle I can get 1.9 60ft times.

I did no prep to my Wife's Camaro & it was on a almost full tank of gas. My best time was launching at 1500rpms then rolling into the gas peddle. There was a 5.0 with DRs only running 13.8s & my Son's car was running .5sec slower than normal that night so I have hope for better times come October.
