Just got a 4800 Event Code from Dealer

Almost had an accident here, I was so excited....

Wed 4/8/2009 2:26 PM

"Hello Bruce,

The new event code is 4800. That means it is sitting somewhere waiting to be unloaded on a car-carrier. As information becomes available, I'll pass it on.

Best Wishes,
Steve xxxxxxx"

Holy Cow. Come on 5000. Guess I better make sure the Insurance is ready. Would hate to have that hold things up.

So does anyone know how much actual prep they need to do at the dealership?
It is Black with CGM stripes, but from other threads on here, it sounds like CGM stripes are put on at the factory? I guess that's one less thing the dealer needs to do.

Wow, now I know why Scott gets so excited...

It's different for every car. Sometimes the plastic parts of the under carraige (spell check) need to be assembled, tire pressures adjusted, road test by PDI (pre-delivery inspection) guy, then clean up and delivery. It doesn't take very long to do.

VIN is 1597. This VIN was created right around when the "ship to commerce" stuff came out.
According to UCF_woot and Heinz's data it was around first 550 or first 480 taking Avis out.

Pretty sure the VINs are sequential and those gaps will get almost entirely filled in with the one-per-dealer cars.
